Unitek EMT Student Disability Services
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the institutions operated by Unitek Learning shall abide by the regulation that “no otherwise disabled individual” shall be excluded from participation in programs and services offered by the College “solely by reason of the disability.”
Unitek Learning institutions shall provide reasonable accommodations, including auxiliary aids and/or services to qualified individuals with a disability, unless providing such accommodations would result in undue burden or fundamentally alter the nature of the relevant program, benefit, or service provided by the College.
In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the College abides by the regulation that “no otherwise disabled individual” shall be excluded from participation in programs and services offered by the College “solely by reason of the disability.” A student is eligible for consideration for accommodations and/or auxiliary aids and services if the student has a documented disability and the ADA Coordinator has consulted with the student and determined that the functional limitations of the disability require such accommodation, auxiliary aids and/or services.
Students With Disabilities
Disabled students should make arrangements to meet with the Program Director and/or our onsite ADA Coordinator prior to the start of class to review facilities and required accommodations. Reasonable assistance is provided through a variety of services tailored to particular students’ needs in an effort to equalize educational opportunities for students. Support services are provided on an individual needs basis and should be discussed with the ADA coordinator. Note: All nursing students must be cleared by their healthcare provider to participate fully in the clinical setting.
The College is committed to providing reasonable accommodations including auxiliary aids and/or services to qualified individuals with a disability, unless providing such accommodations would result in undue burden or would fundamentally alter the nature of the program, benefit, or service provided by the College. To request auxiliary aid or service, please contact the ADA Coordinator(s) for your campus.
If an applicant or student would like to request any accommodation(s), they should do so before the start of their program to ensure the appropriate accommodations can be implemented in a timely manner. The applicant or student requesting accommodation(s) must have their health care provider complete both pages of the ADA Participation and Accommodation Request Form (link provided on this page). The applicant or student must then email the completed form to [email protected] for review. Once received and reviewed, the Campus ADA Coordinator will contact the applicant or student to discuss and finalize the accommodations that will be provided.
Note: Documentation regarding an Individualized Education Program (IEP) will not be accepted as sufficient documentation to support an accommodation. An applicant or student with an IEP must also submit the ADA Participation and Accommodation Request Form completed by their health care provider.
