Student loans are the most common form of financial assistance. Loans may be issued by private institutions. Loans may be taken by students and/or their parents and must be repaid with interest. Private lenders are not insured by the federal government, may have variable requirements for application approval, and set their own terms.
The My Career Advancement Account Scholarship is a workforce development program that offers up to $4,000 in financial assistance to qualifying military spouses for the pursuit or maintenance of a license, certification, or associate’s degree that’s necessary to find employment in an occupation.
Made to help soldiers progress their military careers or prepare for civilian life, Army COOL offers up to $4000 in credentialing assistance per year. Applicants must be currently active in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard.* Funds are subject to availability, and courses must begin within 90 days of submitting your request.
